FARGO, N.D. -

An armed robbery is reported blocks away from the NDSU campus.

About 9 o'clock Sunday night, victims reported that two men wearing ski masks and dark clothing came into their apartment at Dakota Crossing and demanded money and other belongings at gunpoint.

Police used K9s to search the area for the suspects but were unsuccessful.

A woman next door says there was a heavy police presence.

"Oh, okay what's going on? I actually went outside on her balcony and saw a lot of cops patrolling Dakota Drive North and I saw a couple cops on the bridge here. I saw the perimeter set up here and behind our apartment here," says Brittany, who lives in the apartment building next to Dakota Crossing.

NDSU sends out notifications to students and staff when emergency or dangerous situations posing an immediate threat are confirmed.

One was not sent out about the armed robbery.
