Moorhead business owner ends campaign for Minnesota House District 4A

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — A Moorhead business owner is ending his campaign for Minnesota House and throwing his support behind Mayor Shelly Carlson.
In an online statement, Abdishakur Mohamed said he made the decision to withdraw from the Minnesota House District 4A race but will remain engaged in the work that matters most to the community.
Mohamed is the founder and CEO of Soma Employment Solutions.
Carlson, Kevin Salisbury and Erika Yoney are running in the Democratic primary for the seat.
Republican Andrew Rockhold is also running.
The primary takes place on August 11.
The candidate elected in November will replace Democrat Rep. Heather Keeler of Moorhead who is running for Congress in the 7th congressional district.
The seat is held by Republican U.S. Rep. Michelle Fischbach who is running for reelection.
