Early voting begins in Cass County with voters trickling into the polls
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Early voting has begun in Cass County. Bringing residents in the county a chance to make their mark on the ballot a week early.
“During the primary, a lot of the local and county races, some of those things won’t be on the available to voters in the general election. So it’s important that they come vote for their city council people and county commissioners and things like that,” said Ron Saeger, Deputy Inspector for Hartl Ag Building Location.
During the primary election, voters will be able to vote for the seats at the city, county, statewide, and federal levels. In both the city of West Fargo and Fargo, the mayoral seat is up for the taking.
“One thing to remember is that this is a primary election. So when they come to vote, they will be limited to voting for one party if they want to vote for the party’s candidates. So we’re just selecting candidates for the fall election with the primary that we’re doing,” said Saeger.
While the early voting has just opened, voters have trickled in here and there. While it’s not like a presidential election year, one voting inspector believes it’s still important to go out and vote.
“It gets you heard. Now, one vote isn’t much, but a million votes are a lot. So if everybody comes in and everybody votes, and if you have a concern about something, and you don’t like something that’s going to happen or you’d like to see something else happen, well, our way to get that is to vote,” said Ron Anderson, Inspector at Ramada Voting Site.
Early voting continues through Saturday.
With Election Day set for Tuesday, beginning at 7 am.
