Fires Erupt Despite Red Flag Warning

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning. This means that open burning is prohibited and recreational fires are also not allowed.

But despite the ban it has been a very busy day for fire departments around the region. Authorities fought several outdoor fires, including the largest of the day in Wahpeton.

Two buildings burned down and several nearby residents were evacuated.

The fire department reminds everyone to clean up their smoking materials. This warning will likely continue Sunday.
