A man camp may be in the future for Grand Forks.
Temporary labor housing seen frequently in the oil patch may be coming to the city.
Construction on the planned $1.8 billion Northern Plains Nitrogen fertilizer plant is expected to need 2-thousand workers.
They’ll need a place to house all of those workers.
NPN’s construction is expected to start in early 2017.
Ryan Brooks, GF Deputy City Planner: “I would think it’s going to be less than 500 probably less than 300 units that we would need so it’s going to be much smaller than you’d see out west.”
No locations have yet been considered for the site of any future man camp.
