Controversial Hotel Approved for Detroit Lakes

A controversial project in Detroit Lakes has been approved by the city council

The Capri Motel is getting replaced by a new hotel, condominium and restaurant project at the corner of West Lake Drive and Washington Avenue.

The Minnesota DNR made threats to sue the city because of concerns of runoff into the lake and other zoning issues.

The 12 million dollars project passed in a 6:2 vote.
