MATBUS celebrates Earth Week.
MATBUS has a variety of green, earth–friendly activities this week in the F–M area that stresses the role public transportation plays in protecting our environment.
Today’s was “Get Your Can On The Bus” which invites residents to donate one aluminum can in exchange for a free ride on MATBUS.
Those also can enter drawings for free giveaways.
Assistant Transit Planner & Marketing Specialist Taaren Kaak says, “After we get all the cans, we’re going to recycle them and all the proceeds will go to Habitat For Humanity.”
One MATBUS full of people removes up to 50–cars on the road.
The equivalent of a line of cars four city blocks long.
