Kyle Emanuel Selected by the Chargers

SAN DIEGO (AP) – The San Diego Chargers selected North Dakota State linebacker Kyle Emanuel on Saturday in the fifth round of the NFL draft, 153rd overall.  
The 6-foot-3, 255-pound Emanuel had 19 1-2 sacks last year and would fit at outside in the Chargers’ 3-4 alignment.
Emanuel, the Missouri Valley’s defensive player of the year, made 16 1-2 tackles for losses and 10 sacks in eight games against top 25 opponents.
The Chargers sent their fourth-rounder to San Francisco as part of the deal to move up Thursday and take Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon with the 15th pick overall.
