Third Annual Wing Cook-Off Shows Support for First Responders
All the funds raised by the event went towards the creation of care packages for members of the military, firefighters, and police officers.

MOORHEAD, MN (KVRR) – Lovers of all things chicken wings congregated to cook some good food on June 13 and raise money for a good cause.
W.H. Davy Memorial Park played host to the 3rd Annual Wing Cook-Off, organized by Heroes Compass and Swing Barrel Brewing Company.
Heroes Compass is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting first responders and military veterans, and all the proceeds from the cook-off went towards care packages for deployed service members, police officers, firefighters, and others.
Heroes Compass says they rely heavily on community support, so seeing so many people gathered in the park was a heartening experience.
“Well, we’ve always said it’s our community that matters. The community supports our military, our fire, our police. To see the amount of people show up to our event for the third year really means a lot to us,” said Tim Kuhn, executive director of Heroes Compass.
13 different wing cooks competed for a variety of prizes, cooking nearly 500 pounds of wings in the process.
