Wolves Select Towns 1st Overall, Trade for Tyus Jones

The Minnesota Timberwolves selected Karl-Anthony Towns 1st overall Thursday night in the 2015 NBA Draft. The move was well received by analysts and players alike, and was expected for the last week or so.

Towns averaged around ten points and seven rebounds per game at Kentucky, in only 21 minutes a night. He is expected to step in and compete for the starting power forward spot.

Minnesota wasn’t done there though. After Cleveland selected former Duke guard and Minnesota native Tyus Jones 24th overall, the Cavs traded him to the Wolves for both Minnesota’s second round picks.

Jones was selected Most Outstanding Player in April’s Final Four, leading the Blue Devils to the National Championship.
