UND Nickname Voting Begins October 19th

The voting on a new nickname for UND begins October 19th.

During the week of October 12th, eligible voters including students, alumni, retirees, and current season ticket holders will receive an e-mail and instructions.

The five-day voting period begins Oct. 19th.

The  nickname options include: Fighting Hawks, Nodaks, North Stars, Roughriders, and Sundogs.

“Fighting Sioux” was retired after the NCAA found it hostile and abusive.
