Three Men Charged in Minnesota Snapping Turtle Case

Three Frazee men are in trouble for possessing snapping turtles in a closed season.

54-year-old Kevin Ketter, 54-year-old Darwin Bartel and 21-year-old Jordan Ketter were charged in Becker County after a DNR investigation.

Conservation officers seized 23 live snapping turtles at Ketter’s Meat Market in Frazee in June.

They also found more than 240 snapping turtle shells and nearly 300 packages of turtle meat.

State law prohibits taking snapping turtles in May and June.

Each man was charged with a misdemeanor and face up to 90 days in jail.
