Student’s Learn from “Fancy Nancy the Musical”
Local elementary students take a break from school, and get ‘fancy.’
Fargo Public School’s kindergartners and second graders sat back, relaxed, and watched “Fancy Nancy the Musical.” The Fargo–Moorhead Community Theatre’s musical is based off of a book about a girl who likes to use fancy words, and dress in fancy outfits. After each performance, students will learn about literacy, social skills and science about the show’s vocabulary. The play’s director says the production emphasizes the importance of students experiencing the arts early in life.
“It’s a great way to reach students, and teach them about not only about life lessons in life…but also about theatre, you know, and kind of give them an idea of what we do here so and, you know, starting young,” said Fargo-Moorhead Community Theatre’s Artistic and Education Director Kody Jones.
The last performance of “Fancy Nancy the Musical” is Saturday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m., and is already sold out. The theatre’s next show is the musical “Seussical,” which will start on Dec. 4.
