Judge Rules Against Kvalvog Family; State Patrol Can Release Crash Report
A judge denies a request from the Kvalvog family to seal portions of their son’s accident report.
Court documents don’t specifically indicate why Ray Kvalvog wants part of the report kept secret.
But in denying his request, Judge Steven Cahill says the mere fact that the report contains opinions which may be unfavorable to Kvalvog in a potential future lawsuit is not a basis for keeping it hidden from public view.
Zach and Connor Kvalvog died when a pickup that Zach was driving rolled on June 23rd near Dalton. Two other passengers in the truck were injured.
The patrol’s report concluded the crash was caused by a semi that entered their lane.
In court documents, Ray said the agency’s report was deeply flawed and didn’t fully investigate the possibility of a mechanical failure.
