Trial Delayed in Fort Berthold Murder Case
A delay in the trial of a Mandaree man accused of killing another man with his bare hands on the Fort Berthold Reservation.
Marcel Chase is accused of killing Toby Young Bear a year ago during a fight while the two men were using meth.
In October he was deemed competent to stand trial after a lengthy psychiatric evaluation.
A judge granted the defense request for more time and a longer trial.
What was supposed to be a three day trial beginning December 15, is now expected to be a five day trial starting February 8.
