Remodeling to Blame for Crookston House Fire
A house in Crookston is destroyed by fire during a remodel.
Neighbors reported hearing what sounded like small explosions coming from the house at 317 Crescent Avenue around 1 a.m.
Firefighters found the garage collapsed and the fire spread throughout the home.
Firefighters had been called earlier and put out a small fire in the attic caused by a halogen light.
A State Fire Marshal’s initial investigation found the fire was an accident caused by remodeling activities.
