Bye Bye Bird Ban: Statewide Ban On Bird Movements Lifted
A statewide ban on bird movements to shows, exhibitions and public sales has been lifted.
The ban was began in April to fight the spread of bird flu during a nationwide outbreak.
North Dakota had two confirmed cases of avian influenza in commercial poultry operations.
More than 130,000 birds were affected.
Nationally, the outbreak affected more than 48 million birds in 15 states.
State Veterinarian Susan Keller says bird owners should still immediately report unusual bird deaths.
