Local Organist Shares Talent…All for a Can of Food?

Lance Johnson and Fargo Theatre have hosted these free Christmas concerts for 35 years.

Guests are asked to bring a non-perishable food item that will be donated to the food pantry.

Johnson, who is originally from Fergus Falls, has been playing the organ almost all of his life.

He has played at Radio City Music Hall and has even traveled the nation.

“I love the sacred Christmas music, because being in a Lutheran church we sing this stuff all the time in our choir, and so on. I have a great appreciation for it, and along with that I’m very influenced by the Concordia choir, and I always make note of songs they play, they sing that I like to learn to play and that’s what I do,” said Organist Lance Johnson.

If you missed the concerts, you can catch Johnson through Wednesday at noon each day.
