Family Loses House to Fire in Great Bend

Fire destroys a house in Great Bend.

The fire at 102 Main Street broke out last night around 6 o’clock.

A mother and daughter escaped unharmed.

It’s believed an unattended candle started the fire.

Thick smoke was billowing out of the structure when fire crews arrived.

They battled the blaze in sub-zero temperatures.

Firefighters from Great Bend, Mooreton, Dwight, Fairmount, and Hankinson responded.
