Sanford Unveils Adolescent Behavioral Health Program

Sanford unveils its new program to help teens battling behavioral health problems.

Sanford’s Adolescent Partial Hospital Program will offer intensive mental health treatment for kids age 12 to 17.

Sanford showed off a renovated space for the program.

Kids will stay at Sanford during the day to receive treatment and will go home at night.

Officials say kids today deal with more stress than ever before.

“It’s really a growing concern,” says Dr. Charlotte Siemens with Sanford. “We have so many stressors in our communities for adolescents when you consider bullying, things that happen over social media, two parents families that are working and not being able to provide enough supervision or coverage.”

The program can accept up to eight teenagers.

The first patients will start treatment next week.
