Benefit for Area Families Brings Community Together

A high school choir concert is raising money for two families touched by cancer.

Fargo North High School’s Concert Choir is hosting their 15th annual “Taste of the Season” show and holding a silent auction benefit for Grant Heim and the Baarstad family.

Heim is a recent graduate and is currently undergoing treatment.

As for the Baarstads, Kim is a Fargo elementary teacher diagnosed with cancer last year.

Her husband passed suddenly this past January.

Baarstad’s daughter attends Fargo North.

“For the last six years the members of the choir have taken the proceeds and donated them to someone in our Fargo North community that we feel is in need of financial help. And it’s a project that really resonates with all of the students. They take it very seriously,” said Shelley Zietz of Fargo North.

All proceeds will be donated to the Heim and Baarstad family
