Moorhead Business Moves to West Fargo to Continue Uncorking Creativity

A business leaves Moorhead and crosses the river.

The social painting business, Creatively Uncorked, signs a new lease in West Fargo after liquor license confusion with the city of Moorhead.

Creatively Uncorked offers to teach people how to paint with the option of alcoholic refreshments.

The city of Moorhead took away its right to serve drinks last October.

There were a lot of miscommunications but Creatively Uncorked is saying goodbye to the drama and hello to the west.

“Leaving was a very emotional decision,” says owner of Creatively Uncorked Shanna Cramer.

Cramer has many ties to Moorhead, making the decision tough but she needed to make new changes for her business.

Creatively Uncorked is painting with a twist.

A brush in one hand and a drink in the other, all to bond over art.

Shanna says, “I think professionally and for the business it is the right choice for Creatively Uncorked moving to West Fargo.”

West Fargo approved the liquor license Monday.

For this new location, you have to be 21 and older to participate.

The lease papers are signed and it’s anchoring in the Pioneer Center.

Shanna explains, “The most I’m looking forward to is having a solid stable home where the rules aren’t going to change. Where all the parties are going to be consistent and everyone is going to know what to expect when they walk into the door.”

Shanna is brushing off the past and painting a new start.

Supporters are all for the move as long as it’s still for the art.

“I’ve always been a creative person but I’m not very good at it. So it’s kind of nice to be able to come to something like this where you don’t need a lot of experience but you get to get the experience in it,” says Jennifer Forward of West Fargo.

She’s happy it’s moving closer to her.

Forward says it’s a great company and she enjoys the unique concept.

“I think it’s a fun thing to do with family and friends. It’s easy. It’s cheap and something you get to take home at the end of the night.”

Moorhead Mayor Del Rae Williams did not want to go on camera but wishes Shanna the best.

The new location plans to open on June 1st, 2016.
