A Fargo Man Charged With Murder Set To Change Plea

FARGO, N.D. – A Fargo man charged with murder in a bar brawl that killed a father of five is set to plead guilty in the case in Cass County court.

Nicholas Morris, who was charged with 3 other men in the death last spring of 35-year-old Joey Gaarsland, was set to go to trial next week in the AA felony murder case against him.

Prosecutors alleged Morris and 3 other men beat Gaarsland to death following a confrontation between another man, Scott Moen, and Gaarsland’s wife Laura. Gaarsland died several days later in the hospital of severe head injuries.

 Moen pleaded guilty in the case last November.
