Lewis & Clark Elementary Hosts Reading Slumber Party
Staff at Lewis and Clark Elementary turned their library into a real life slumber party – all in celebration of reading.
As a way to help encourage the habit of reading, assistant principal David Schneck spent the day reading to students in bed.
The event, called “Bed Time Stories”, is a part of the school’s “Read Your Heart Out Day”.
“I look up, and I fan the book and the pictures, and the kids are smiling, and they are engaged. Their brains are turning. They’re thinking about the story, and how it relates to their life, and you see the light bulb come on,” said David Schneck Assistant Principal at Lewis and Clark Elementary.
This is the first year the elementary has held the event.
