Third Time the Charm? Strand Running Again for City Commissioner
A Fargo school board member is running once again for city commissioner.
John Strand is hoping the third times the charm.
The co-owner of the High Plains Reader newspaper moved up his announcement by about a week after learning of the sudden outbreak of heroin overdoses in the community.
Strand says he personally knows two people who have died from overdoses in the past.
“It’s my giving an example of if I’m elected as a leader and sitting on the Fargo City Commission that my intent will be to respond to the people and their needs and their concerns,” says Strand.
Tammy Linn, Mara Brust, Robin Nelson and Joe Burgum are also running for the commission.
Two seats will be on the June 14th ballot with the departure of Melissa Sobolik and Mike Williams, who has reached his term limit.
