West Fargo Hockey Hosts Fifth Annual Gun Raffle
The West Fargo Hockey hosted their annual gun raffle.
Three hundred guns, gears and a 2016 Ice Castle Limited Edition Ice House were raffled off at the Holiday Inn in Fargo.
Nearly a thousand people filled the hotel.
Organizers hope to raise up to $70,000.
It’s the fundraiser’s fifth year, and its dealt with a lot of controversy.
“If you have problems with your history or record, you’re not allowed to take a gun. You have to go through a background check with Scheels and if you don’t pass that background check then you cannot take the gun. Nobody leaves tonight with a gun. They have to go to Scheels, go through the background check, they pass that then they get to take their gun,” says West Fargo Hockey Association president Mike Prochnow.
All proceeds will benefit West Fargo Youth Hockey Association.
