South Moorhead Burglary Suspects Leave Path of Destruction

Three suspects are in custody at the Clay County jail after burglarizing a home and fleeing from police in south Moorhead.

Moorhead neighbors reported seeing men with flashing lights walking through a home that was under construction around 4:30 this morning.

Police have confirmed that the suspects were stealing construction equipment.

The driver has been identified as a 17-year-old from Dilworth.

The other two suspects have been identified as Steven Foster and Steve Langeston, both of Dilworth.

When police arrived on scene, all three suspects fled, leaving a trail of damage behind them.

“Ultimately got into the vehicle, and try to leave the area and at a high speed and by doing so they caused damaged to mail boxes in the area, a fire hydrant was knocked over, as well as three vehicles were damaged,” said Lt. Tory Jacobson of Moorhead Police.

Police say the vehicle then crashed into two parked cars, where the three fled before they were caught.

They face charges of 3rd degree burglary, conspiracy to commit criminal damage, felony fleeing as well as several other charges.
