Mayors Serve Up Lunch to Honor Community Service

Local mayors step up and give back, in the name of community service.

The mayors of Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo and Dilworth served meals to seniors at different spots around the metro.

Moorhead Mayor Del Rae Williams joined them for lunch at the Hjemkomst Center.

Nearly 3,000 mayors from around the country are taking part in the event sponsored by several community service organizations.

“It’s huge,” says Williams. “When people give back to their community through volunteerism it has a huge impact. It’s not only for that specific organization that needs the time and talents, but also for the person who decides to volunteer. It’s really kind of a win-win moment for people.”
 
More than 850 volunteers help provide senior meals and services in Cass and Clay County.
