Prairie Garden To Be Planted At Comstock House

The Comstock House in Moorhead will be planting a prairie garden.

The garden will feature native plants such as prairie flowers and grasses.

Neighbors living near the historic museum spearheaded the project.

Organizers plan to have future garden activities available for kids.

“We are planting a garden that is going to be pollen-friendly for bees and staying with the historic theme of the Comstock house. It’ll be plants that would’ve grown in the Red River Valley before the area was plowed for development,” says Comstock House site manager Matt Eitem.

The public is invited to help plant the garden May 24th at 3:30 pm.

Tours for the Comstock House will start on the 28th.
