Pet Rescue Relies on Volunteers to Get the Job Done

A local group rescues and rehabilitates abandoned animals, but they need your help.

Diamond in the Ruff currently has 30 animals including dogs, cats and even a few rabbits.

All of the money raised at today’s auction goes straight back to the animals.

Each pet is spayed, micro chipped and stays in volunteer foster homes.

The organization takes animals from overfilled pounds in the region and they rely solely on volunteers to get the job done.

“In order to take any animal in, we have to have a place for them to go, so fostering is 100 percent free. We provide all of the supplies, the vet care and you can help us decide what’s a good fit for your family with your other animals and just everything else going on in your house,” says Amy Dusek, Diamond in the Ruff Founder.

Dusek says if fostering doesn’t work out, families can return the animal at any time.

If you’re not interested in fostering but still want to help out they’re always in need of volunteers helping with graphic design, marketing and even healthcare.
