No Effort Required: Letter Carrier Food Drive Picks up Donations at Your Home
It’s the biggest single-day food drive in the country, and get this, they’ll come all the way to your home to pick up your donation.
The United State Post Office’s Letter Carriers Food Drive Saturday, May 14th.
Simply leave a bag or box full of non-perishable food items next to your mailbox, and your letter carrier will help make sure it goes to someone in need.
All food goes to local food pantries.
Letter carries want to do better than last year, when they collected more than 52,000 pounds of food locally.
No matter where you live in the Fargo-Moorhead area, you can help them reach their goal.
“We’re in every town,” explains letter carrier Joe Cusher. “We deliver to pretty much every house and every business in town. That’s what makes it successful.”
The food drive officially happens on Saturday, but carriers say they’ll collect food for an entire week starting Friday.
