More Than 2,000 Supporters Waited In Line For Bernie Sanders

Hours before the doors opened, more than 2,000 Bernie Sanders supporters stood in line at the Ramada Hotel.

The line wrapped around the block onto 42nd Street South.

The convention room was able to hold up to only 1,800 for the rally.

The early birds stood in the freezing cold since 7 a.m. to support who they believe should be the next president.

“It’s just the fact that he supports everybody.  Just the common people and not the rich. I come from a poor background, and he really supports us and he’s trying to help everyone out and not just prioritize maybe one race over the other or the rich over the poor. He’s trying to support everyone equally and I really like that,” says Zayne Reinke of Fargo.

Reinke was first in line and the “Bern” kept him going through the chilly weather.

Other Bernie fans braved the cold to support Sanders’ policies.

“I’ve been a Bernie supporter since he made the announcement over a year ago. I just really feel passionate about the things that he stands for. Universal healthcare for all is very important to me,” says Linda Roesch of Roscoe, South Dakota.

Nearly 200 people stood outside in the overflow crowd to hear Sanders’ speech through speakers.

He made time after his rally to visit with the crowd outside the venue.
