Gas Prices Reach Lowest Levels in 12 Years
It’s official: gas prices are the lowest they have been in over a decade.
AAA announced Monday that gas prices for July are the lowest they have been in twelve years.
Gas can be found in the metro for less than $2 a gallon.
Usually, gas prices rise during the busy summer travel months.
Prices across the nation are down about 55 cents from a year ago.
The national average is $2.20 a gallon.
“It seems unusual, but it’s nice. We’re enjoying it, and they’ve been very good for the last couple of months,” says Darla Johnson.
AAA says the decline in prices is due to large fuel supplies and the decreasing cost of crude oil, which has had a negative impact on North Dakota’s economy.
