Hundreds Of Harry Potter Fans Celebrate Latest Book Release

Hundreds of fans flock to Barnes and Noble Saturday to get the latest Harry Potter book.
 
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, is a stage play that takes place 19 years after the last book.
 
The midnight release parties around the world summoned muggles to come together again for the newest installment on the beloved series about the boy who lived.

And for many fans, this was the most magical event of the year.
 
“Now to be in this place, surrounded by people, it feels like the magic is alive again,” says Linka Wintersteen of Moorhead.
 
Wherever you looked, you’d think that you’ve stumbled into the Wizarding World.
 
And muggles are all under Harry Potter’s spell yet again.

For many fans, it’s nostalgic.

And for younger fans experiencing this for the first time, it’s become a new tradition.
 
“There’s really no word for it. It’s like amazing, slash, there’s not even a word for it,” says young Gryffindor Selena Christianson.
 
Waiting for the clock to strike midnight is an all too familiar feeling for Potter fans.

But it’s all worth it once you can get your muggle hands on the book.
 
Wintersteen adds, “During the last couple of hours, I have met so many awesome people decked out in their Harry Potter costume. It’s just been an ultimate weirdness fest. Everybody can be exactly how they want to be, freaking out over the amazing books that have been created and are being created.”
 
“I never expected there to be another book that we can talk about new material,” says Emily Pratt of Moorhead.
 
New friendships are easily made when you have a Harry Potter obsession.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a Gryffindor or Slytherin, talking about it can add fuel to the fire of excitement.
 
“And it’s something that we’ve all been waiting for and knowing that probably it’d happen at some point. And to have it actually happen now is pretty exciting,” says Emma Fritzkapps.
 
“I hope it’s good like the entire Harry Potter series,” says Curtis Kapaun.
 
“This book series touches magic in a way that hasn’t really been tried before,” says Wintersteen.
 
It is reported that this is the most pre-ordered book for both Amazon and Barnes & Noble, a spot that was last held by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
