As One Moorhead Ramp Re-Opens, Another Set To Close

The westbound I-94 off ramp in Moorhead is reopening, but that doesn’t come without another ramp closing.
 
Traffic on westbound I-94 can now exit onto Eighth Street going north.

However, some drivers will still need to plan their routes ahead.

The on-ramp from southbound 8th Street will soon close.

Instead, drivers will have to use the 20th street on ramp to get on I-94.

“With a big project like this, there’s a lot of inconvenience while the construction is going on but in the end I’m quite confident the people will like the result it will help ease some of the congestion that they’ve seen over the years at the interchange,” says Jerimiah Moerke with MnDOT Public Affairs.
 
Moerke says because the south end of Moorhead continues to grow, the interchange has been running close to capacity.

He also urges drivers to limit all distractions when driving through work zones.
