Local Superheroes Hit The Pavement To Fight Against Child Abuse

Dozens of local superhero bolted off to fight against child abuse.

More than 80 people participated in Prevent Child Abuse North Dakota’s 2nd Annual Superhero 5K.

KVRR’s own Chief Meteorologist Rob Kupec and his family also dressed up as their favorite crime fighters.

Organizers say the numbers have grown in this year’s run.

They hope to continue encouraging families to nurture and keep kids safe.

“There’s really no words for it that so many are coming out here and they want to break the silence. And they want to help bring prevention and awareness to child abuse. They just want to break the cycle,” says Prevent Child Abuse North Dakota Co-Director Rhonda Lura.

All the proceeds will go to help educate and bring awareness about child abuse to communities and school in the state.
