Woman Assaulted in Grand Forks Home Invasion

A woman is hurt after two men allegedly broke into her Grand Forks apartment around three o’clock Wednesday morning.

The men entered an apartment at 1114 22nd Avenue South and began assaulting the woman.

They took off in an unknown direction and a police search turned up nothing.

The men were wearing dark clothing.

Police do not know the motive at this time.

“We have not been able to identify the suspect at this point, so I wouldn’t come out and say that the public should not be concerned. I would say they should be wary. We always encourage the public to be as careful as they can, keep their doors locked, pay attention to what’s going on around them when they’re out and about,” said Lt. Brett Johnson of the Grand Forks Police Department.

Police say the woman had non-life threatening injuries and has been released from the hospital.
