National Weather Service Confirms Three Tornadoes

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has confirmed three tornadoes in Saturday’s storms and they did a lot of damage.

One formed near Cummings and moved towards Hillsboro.

The tornado destroyed a two car garage, tore down filled grain bins and toppled elevator legs at the Taft elevator complex.

It demolished half of an engineered metal building and then tore the roof of a well constructed home.

The other confirmed tornadoes were near Arvilla and Emerado.

The storms also dropped sizable hail across the region with the biggest, tennis ball sized, reported near Arvilla and Holmes in Grand Forks County.

Pea size hail was reported in much of south Fargo, while the hail was a bit larger in the northern part of the metro.
