“Snuggly” Boa Constrictor Finds New Home with UND Athlete

A six foot snake found abandoned south of Grand Forks a week ago has a new home.

The boa constrictor was adopted over the weekend by a UND football player who has experience with reptiles.

The snake was brought to the Human Society by the Grand Forks Sheriff’s Office for safe keeping after being spotted slithering along County Road Six.

The director described the boa as a good snake who likes to snuggle.

Authorities say the boa was likely an escapee.

The snake is native to Central and South America.
