West Fargo Woman Dies in Nelson County Car Crash

A West Fargo woman is dead after a crash in Nelson County.

The Highway Patrol says 71-year-old Sharon Esch died when she was hit head-on.

The accident happened at 3:45 Sunday afternoon on Highway 2 at Petersburg.

Malik Yahaya, 45, of East Grand Forks lost control of his vehicle, crossed the median and hit Esch’s car.

She died at the scene.

Yahaha was taken to Altru in Grand Forks and could face charges.
