Gov. Dayton Working on Plan to Battle High Health Care Costs

Minnesota Governor Dayton is calling on lawmakers to help Minnesotans dealing with major health insurance increases.

He sent a letter to legislative leaders proposing an agreement by November 1st.

Dayton wants to use around 300 million DOLLARS scheduled to be added to the reserve on December 2nd to instead go to provide assistance to those whose premiums are going way up.

He said the reserve is intended for “rainy days” and right now it is pouring on some Minnesotans.

Dayton says he’s willing to work out a compromise and call a Special Session if necessary.
