Snow Removal Reminders for the City of Fargo
With snowfall starting up this year, the City of Fargo reminds us of the city’s snow removal ordinance.
City officials say commercial and private property owners must remove snow from adjacent sidewalks by 9:00p.m. after every snowfall.
Anyone who doesn’t clear their sidewalks of snow and ice can be reported.
After the city inspects reported properties, the owner is given 24 hours to shovel.
“Please keep your sidewalks as clear as possible from each edge of the concrete,” said Mark Williams, who is the Public Works Services Manager with the City of Fargo. “Think of the handicapped accessibility of the snow.”
City workers are responsible for plowing 27 miles of sidewalks throughout Fargo.
