WALHALLA, N.D. (KVRR) — An official dedication ceremony will be held on Wednesday for Pembina Gorge State Park.

It is North Dakota’s 14th state park.

Gov. Kelly Armstrong and North Dakota Parks and Recreation are inviting the public to attend the 1 p.m. dedication ceremony.

The event will include the first campfire and s’mores for all to celebrate the grand opening of the state’s newest state park since establishing Cross Ranch State Park in 1989.

The new campground officially opens on June 9 and it’s located one mile north of Walhalla Country Club.
