Hundreds Mourn Grand Forks Native, Colorado Trooper Killed in the Line of Duty

Hundreds of family, friends and members of law enforcement came to say goodbye to the Colorado State Trooper and Grand Forks native who was killed on patrol while responding to a car crash.

Trooper Cody Donahue, 34, died after being hit by a commercial truck on the shoulder of a highway in Colorado while he was responding to a car crash.

It was the day after Thanksgiving.

The truck driver is charged with careless driving and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Donahue had been with the Colorado State Patrol for 11 years.

He grew up in Grand Forks and studied engineering at UND.

Donahue leaves behind a wife and two young children.
