Memorial Service Set For Pilot Killed In Crash South of Fargo

A memorial service is set for the pilot who was killed when his single engine plane crashed south of Fargo on Thursday.

The service for 55-year-old Hans Ahlness will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bowman Lutheran Church in Bowman, North Dakota.

Ahlness died after his Cessna plane had an in-flight emergency and crashed in a field near the Wild Rice River.

He was Vice President of Operations at Weather Modification International, where he worked for 31 years.

We talked to Ahlness last year at a conference about finding ways to reduce hail in rain storms.
