Former Employee of Cass County Sheriff’s Office Asks for Investigation into Sheriff Laney

A former long-time employee of the Cass County Sheriff’s office is asking for an investigation of Sheriff Laney.

Gail Wischmann told county commissioners that she was bullied and verbally abused when she met with Laney after she resigned November 1 after nearly 34 years.

She claims Laney threatened her, believing she has information that could be damaging to him.

Laney is in his second term as sheriff.
