Fargo Park District Says Goodbye to Long Time Executive Director in Style

The Fargo Park District says a bittersweet goodbye with a party.

Roger Gress is retiring after serving as the Fargo Park District Executive Director for 20 years.

Gress’s wife is also joining him in retirement and they say they are planning on spending a lot of time with their five granddaughters.

In total, Gress worked with the district for 36 years.

“My favorite part has always been the Park District family because when the family is happy and doing well, they go out and the work they do is excellent and you look around and the things that we all enjoy in our community, the people behind me are really the ones who have done…they are the backbone of the park district,” said Gress.

Joel Vettel took over the role of Executive Director in September.
