UPDATE: 8-Year-Old Girl Identified in Alleged Murder-Suicide in Faribault

Authorities have identified an 8-year-old girl killed in what they believe was a murder-suicide in Faribault, south of the Twin Cities.

Police say the bodies of Lynnaya Stoddard-Espinoza and 33-year-old Ryan Perrizo were found inside a home Sunday, and a gun was found next to Perrizo’s body.

Both had been shot.

Autopsies are pending.

Police say Perrizo and his late wife had been legal guardians of Stoddard-Espinoza since 2012.

Local and state authorities are continuing to investigate.

Investigators in Faribault, Minnesota believe the deaths of a 33-year-old man and a girl were a murder-suicide.

Authorities discovered the bodies inside a home Sunday after someone reported seeing the man lying in the entryway.

Police have identified the man as Ryan Perrizo, who lived at the home.

Authorities are waiting for an autopsy to confirm the girl’s identity.

According to Faribault police, both the man and the girl were shot and a gun was found next to Perrizo’s body.

Investigators are still trying to determine how Perrizo and the girl were related.
