Minneapolis Man Accused of Sexual Assault of Bus Passenger

A man is accused of raping a woman on a Jefferson Lines Bus headed from Minneapolis to Grand Forks.

The bus was stopped Friday in Crookston and 22-year-old Mohamed Ayanle of Minneapolis was arrested for criminal sexual conduct.

The victim told police that Ayanle had invited her to watch a movie in the back of the bus.

She thought he had a weapon and went with him.

She says he then removed her clothes and raped her.

Ayanle told authorities the sex was consensual.

He was released on Monday after posting bond.

His next court appearance is January 3.
