Senator John Hoeven Meets with President Trump’s Ag Secretary Pick

Senator Hoeven and Governor Perdue have worked together for many years on issues in the Ag industry

Senator Hoeven has spent some time with President Trump’s Ag Secretary nominee.

Hoeven and Sonny Perdue, the former governor of Georgia, talked about the importance of building a coalition to pass a new farm bill.

He says they also talked about maintaining strong crop insurance options for farmers and ranchers.

Hoeven is a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee and chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee.

“Governor Perdue and I worked together for many years and he understands how important it is that we have good farm policy and build a good farm bill for next year to help our farmers and ranchers through this time of low commodity prices,” said Senator Hoeven.

Hoeven also served on the Senate-House Conference Committee that crafted the final farm bill of 2014.
